As a person who attended tea party events it saddens me to see the tea party finally breathe its last breath of life and fully expose how establishment controlled it is. Many polls are showing the Tea Party is supporting Newt Gingrich over real liberty candidates like Ron Paul. People are stepping down in many states as the Tea Party officially backs Newt in many areas.
Here is a post on Facebook from former SC Lt. Governor Candidate Bill Connor
Bill Connor
Amazing when a TEA Party group votes 80+% in favor of Rick Perry a short time ago, and now endorses Newt by over 75%. The records of both candidates have been open record for years (particularly long-time Washington insider vs. long-time Texas Gov.). What explains that kind of shift in numbers............. I'll let others draw their own conclusions. Again, having started with the TEA Party movement, I don't believe many are standing behind the passions/aims of those first TEA Parties in early 2009.
Why is the Tea Party backing Gingrich?
Poll: Newt, Tea Party favorite
December 7, 2011 by Don Surber
looked at the numbers from CNN/Time’s polls in Florida, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, and asked myself, what in the name of Dede Scozzafava is going on around here? Newt Gingrich has become the Tea Party favorite? Bu-bu-but just a year ago, conservatives blasted Newt for his endorsement of Dede Scozzafava in a three-way New York congressional race, which she dropped out of in the last few days and supported the Democrat — who then won.
CNN/Time polled those fours states because they are the first up on the caucus/primary calendar.
Overall the polls of the states ran:
Gingrich 48%, Romney 25% in Florida
Gingrich 33%, Romney 20% in Iowa
Romney 35%, Gingrich 26% in New Hampshire
Gingrich 43%, Romney 20% in South Carolina
Gingrich 33%, Romney 20% in Iowa
Romney 35%, Gingrich 26% in New Hampshire
Gingrich 43%, Romney 20% in South Carolina
Well, there you have it: A two-man race.
Just like it was down to Rick Perry and Mitt Romney in September and then Herman Cain and Mitt Romney in October.
What is giving Newt the edge in the race is the Tea Party.
In Florida, Newt Gingrich has the Tea Party vote 62%-18% over Romney.
In Iowa, Newt Gingrich has the Tea Party vote 40%-15% over Romney.
In New Hampshire, Newt Gingrich has the Tea Party vote 37%-29% over Romney.
In South Carolina, Newt Gingrich has the Tea Party vote 53%-14% over Romney.
The Tea Party will decide this race. It is just surprising how quickly it went from Herman Cain to Newt Gingrtrich.
For now.
