Unconfirmed: Bin Laden Mission Aborted, American Deaths from Helicopter Crash

Unconfirmed: Bin Laden Mission Aborted, American Deaths from Helicopter Crash | Veterans Today

“EYEWITNESS” INTERVIEW SAYS AMERICANS DIED, MISSION UNSUCCESSFUL

“We saw the helicopter burning, we saw the dead bodies, then everything was removed and now there is nothing”

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

A Pakistan news agency reports that the bin Laden raid on Abbottabad was aborted because of a helicopter crash which killed several passengers, believed to be Pashtu speaking Americans.
Though this is from a news agency, it is an eyewitness account and unconfirmed. Veterans Today has received this story from several sources but most recently from our comments section. Thanks!
If this story is true, it would be a disaster for the Obama presidency, deeply paralleling the unsuccessful hostage rescue attempt in Iran during the Carter presidency.
If the story is true, our heartfelt sympathies for the families of those who may have died in this operation. As described below, the mission depicts real heroism and, despite political concerns and the usual finger pointing, represents, of all the stories told, something Americans can be proud of.
True or not, there is a unpleasant ring of reality in this story that is lacking in all others, a reality proven out by the helicopter wreckage found at the scene. This is the only real proof there was an operation at all.
A forensic examination of the scene and the wreckage, slated to be returned to the US by the Pakistani government, would easily either prove or disprove this account.

Full And Complete Translation Of The Pakistani News Video I Posted About Osama bin Laden

This is a translation of the video linked at the bottom and was translated by my friend Khan Taashk. THANK YOU my dear friend. I wish there were a way for ALL Americans to read this translation.
Anchor: Welcome back, Mohammad Bashir is a resident of Abboottabad’s Bilal Town. Muhammad Bashir might seem an ordinary guy but he is no ordinary guy. Muhammad Bashir lives in front of Osama Ben Laden’s house in Bilal Town Abbottabad. On 2nd of May, Muhammad Bashir was present on his rooftop from where he saw the whole American operation against Osama Ben Laden with his own eyes. Yesterday when our team was present In Bilal Town, Abbottabad, near Osama Ben Laden’s hose, Muhammad Bashir came to us and said, “Sister, I need to tell you something, something that is a burden on my heart and soul”, just listen to what he said.
Bashir: I am going to share something about the Abbottabad operation which till this day nobody else has told you.
Anchor: But Muhammad Bashir was a little afraid too, while talking to me he telephoned hia reletive, Vice President of Jummat-e-Islami, Abdur Razzaq Abasi, watch it
Reporter: Tell me your name and tell me whare do you live
Bashir: Let me first, Let me talk to him one minute, i will give you full interview, full or half?
Reporter: Full Full
Bashir: Let me first talk to him
Reporter: To whom? To Abbasi?
Bashir: yes, to Abbasi
Anchor: Muhammad Bashir told us something that no one said before. So we checked his identity card, we also confirmed that he really lives there, we asked from the senior fellows about him. We were very astonished by his story just see and listen what he said.
Bashir: We were awake, not asleep, a helicopter came, some men came down from that, into that house, then that helicopter went away
Reporter: How many men?
Bashir: 10-12, then that helicopter took rounds of those rear hills, then he came bac…k and when he came bach, two more helicopters arrived, one from the west and other from the north, there was a blast in the first helicopter and it was on fire, we immediately came out, when we reached there, the helicopter was burning, then after about 20 minutes the army and police arrived, they pushed us back, now we are asking that if oama was here then who took him to america because all those men that came in the helicopter died in the blast, now if Osama was in that helicopter he must have died and got burnt in that helicopter too, then how they took him? this is a question of serious concern. America claims they they killed him and picked him up. How they picked him up? This is what we are thinking
Reporter: Was there only one helicopter?
Bashir? Yes the other that came flew away to Mansehra, there was only one that landed the men and came back to pick them but as he was picking them up, it blew away and caught fire.
Reporter: Then were in it when it blew?
Bashir: Yes They were.
Reporter : How you know?
Bashir: We saw it with our own eyes
Reporter: You saw dead man?
Bashir: Yes, dead men,
Reporter: How many?
Bashir: I couldnt count them because then the compound was on fire. The gate was open, we went in, the army and police hadnt arrived then, there were some people but they werent stopping them. The whole neighborhood has seen that but they are silent now.
Bashir: We saw the helicopter burning, we saw the dead bodies, then everything was removed and now there is nothing
Reporter: How many dead bodies you saw?
Bashir: We couldn’t count them because they were blown into pieces.
The reporter asked Bashir to narrate the story again.
Bashir said we could see the faces of those men but they were speaking pashto. I dont know whether they were Pakistani or American army or people of agencies, as you know that agency people can speak many languages.
May be they were speaking Pashto so that we consider them Pakistani.
They knocked and banged at our doors and told us not to come out.
I laid down on my rooftop and was watching them.
My kids were calling me, I told them to go to their rooms and let me check whats going on.
The reporter asks Bashir, that when he saw that the helicopter was American what was he thinking then?
Bashir said that he got afraid. He didn’t had in his mind that they will attack that house. He thought that they might have come to attack the Pakistan Army.
The reporter asked so when was your cousin Shamraiz taken away?
Bashir: Shamrez was at our home, as the helicopter exploded, me and many others went out of our homes to see what happened. Shamrez also came out and the gate of the compound was open, we went in, every thing was lying scattered, as it is a huge compound, some body parts were lying here, some there, legs, arms, heads, broken and torn body parts, during that time some part of the helicopter inside, may be the engine or other fuel related part had an explosion so we rushed out. During that time Shamrez was taken away, he is in his home now, but no one is allowed to meet him and i couldn’t get a chance to talk to him later.
Then the anchor says that they had vegetations inside the compound and Shamrez was their gardener. We know that two men Arshad and Tariq used to live there. They had good relations with the neighbours, they used to buy things from the local store. Sometimes imported dates and used to send many things to their neighbours.
Then the reporter is at Abdullah Ben Zubair Mosque, which is the nearest to compound of Osama.
She asks a guy: do you think people would have been glad and happy if they would have ever met osama?
The guy : Yes, possibly. Because he was a muslim and he believed in God.
This is the whole story! Every aspect and point translated.
The gentleman being interviewed lives across from the compound. His cousin Sahab Jamrez Khan used to grow vegetables in the compound. He was taken away in all the hullabaloo on tape @10.29 Bashir says he did not see when they wisked his cousin away.
Interviewer asks “Have you spoken to your cousin?”
Bashir “No, I have not seen him yet he in in the house. “They will not let him get out” “They will not let me get in.”
2 other men Arshad Sahib and Tariq Sahib used to go to market to shop for that compound and bought international brand items. Dates, dried meat found in compound. Also food used to come from compound to Bashir’s house Kabulu Pilau and things like that used to be presented to Bashir. They will follow up with more information. In the end the lady is standing in front of Abdullah Bin Zubair mosque. The mosque was with in walking distance of the compound. She asks people if Osama did attend this mosque people would have be happy? The one answered maybe. The other said Osama did “not” live here but he was muslim and believed in God. Interview ends.
Another thing to note is that Bashir mentioned that we are very “sharif” meaning law abiding honest people. His town was a peaceful place no excitement no murders, fights, and he is unhappy how they have made his town so frightful with all this news. One thing is very clear in this video. Two helicopters hovered never landed. One landed dropped Pashto speaking poeple on the roof 10-12 of them Helicopter left fo 20 minutes returned to load people in and small blast engine failure fire helicopter parts all over. Body parts arms, legs, head, all over. Pakistani Army/Police came in dispersed crowd. The whole scene is cleaned up totally now. No evidence left to examine.

The world we live in is a dangerous place — a violent place sometimes. But no one would expect the police (who’s motto ironically is to “Protect and Serve”) to slam a handicapped non-threatening suspect onto the ground with sheer brute force.

Just another testament to what we have to loo forward to as a slave nation to the oligarchs who rule with an iron fist instilling tyranny on every level of the populace.

The following video clip is almost painful to watch.

How Goldman Sachs Created the Food Crisis

How Goldman Sachs Created the Food Crisis

Food is becoming more expensive around the world. In fact, world food prices rose to near a record high this April as grain costs continued to increase. The cost of living in the U.S. has been rising at its fastest pace since December 2009, and Chinese consumer prices have been going up at their fastest rate since 2008.

One reason for the rise in food prices is Wall Street greed. In 1991, bankers at Goldman Sachs came up with a new kind of investment product, a derivative that tracked 24 raw materials, including food products, as part of a single mathematical formula they called the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI).

The problem came in 1999, when the Commodities Futures Trading Commission deregulated futures markets, and bankers could take as large a position in grains as they liked -- something which had been forbidden to all but those actually involved in food production since the Great Depression.

According to Foreign Policy:

"The structure of the GSCI paid no heed to the centuries-old buy-sell/sell-buy patterns ... This imbalance undermined the innate structure of the commodities markets, requiring bankers to buy and keep buying -- no matter what the price ...

Not only does the world's food supply have to contend with constricted supply and increased demand for real grain, but investment bankers have engineered an artificial upward pull on the price of grain futures. The result: Imaginary wheat dominates the price of real wheat, as speculators (traditionally one-fifth of the market) now outnumber bona-fide hedgers four-to-one."

Hedge Farm! The Doomsday Food Price Scenario Turning Hedgies into Survivalists

Hedge Farm! The Doomsday Food Price Scenario Turning Hedgies into Survivalists | The New York Observer
May 17, 2011 | 8:16 p.m

On the rare occasion that New Yorkers talk about farming, it's usually something along the lines of what sort of organic kale to plant in the vanity garden at the second house in the Adirondacks. But on a recent afternoon, The Observer had a conversation of a different sort about agricultural pursuits with a hedge fund manager he'd met at one of the many dark-paneled private clubs in midtown a few weeks prior. "A friend of mine is actually the largest owner of agricultural land in Uruguay," said the hedge fund manager. "He's a year older than I am. We're somewhere [around] the 15th-largest farmers in America right now."

"We," as in, his hedge fund.

It may seem a little odd that in 2011 anyone's thinking of putting money into assets that would have seemed attractive in 1911, but there's something in the air-namely, fear. The hedge fund manager and others like him envision a doomsday scenario catalyzed by a weak dollar, higher-than-you-think inflation and an uncertain political climate here and abroad.

The pattern began to emerge sometime in 2008. "The Hedge Fund Manager Who Bought a Farm," read the headline on one February 2008 Times of London piece detailing a British hedge fund manager's attempt to play off the rising prices of grains in order to usurp local farmland. A FinancialTimes piece two months later began: "Hedge funds and investment banks are swapping their Gucci for gumboots." It detailed BlackRock's then-relatively new $420 million Agriculture Fund, which had already swept up 2,800 acres of land.

[More from The Apocolype Issue: Hipster Prophet Preaches Rapture and The Great Adderall Shortage of 2011!]

Even Michael Burry, the now-defunct Scion Capital founder and star protagonist of Michael Lewis' The Big Short-who bet against the housing bubble in 2008 with credit default swaps to enormous profit-gave a rare interview on Bloomberg TV last year, explaining that he's thrown his hat into "productive agriculture land with water on site" as it's going to be "very valuable in the future." (Like most of those asked to comment for this story to The Observer, Burry declined to discuss his investments in farmland.)

Three years later, the purchase of farmland both in America and abroad by outside investors has increased-so much so that in February, Thomas Hoenig, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, warned against the violent possibilities of a farmland bubble, telling the Senate Agriculture Committee that "distortions in financial markets" will catch the U.S. by surprise again. He would know, because he's seeing it in his backyard: Kansas and Nebraska reported farmland prices 20 percent above the previous year's levels and are on pace to double values in four years. A study commissioned by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and released in January estimated the amount of private capital currently committed to farmland and agricultural infrastructure at $14 billion. It also estimated that future investments will "dwarf" what's currently being thrown into land, by two to three times. Further down, the study makes a conservative projection that the amount of capital potentially entering the sector over the next decade will fly past $150 billion.

When asked if this is an end of the world scenario, the hedge-fund manager replied, “It really is. I tell my fiancée this from time to time, and I’ve stopped telling her this, because it’s not the most pleasant thought.’

This is happening in part because investors see their play as a hedge against hyperinflation. While the rest of the world uses the current calculation of the Consumer Price Index as a proxy for the cost of goods, some farmland investors are using a different equation, one from 1980. These investors assert inflation should be calculated the way it was before the Boskin Commission's 1996 reworking of the CPI formula-in which case, it would be much, much higher.

"The CPI supposedly today is something like 1.5 percent," says the hedge fund manager. "We think the actual rate of inflation is something closer to 6 or 7 percent on an annual basis. It's also not about what it's been over the last 10 years; it's about what it's going to be over the next 10 years."

Seeking Answers in the Wake of the Tucson Massacre :

Seeking Answers in the Wake of the Tucson Massacre :

The La Toscana Village mall, here in the unincorporated community of Casas Adobes, is home to a Safeway grocery store and connected to a Walgreens. There are other shops and restaurants nearby including a Beyond Bread restaurant and other merchants.

There is little if anything on site that would indicate that a mass shooting had taken place there a little over four months earlier.

This suburban shopping mall, where innocent lives were taken or destroyed on the morning of January 8, 2011, doesn’t strike one as the sort of place where such horrific events unfolded.

Across Ina Road from the shopping center are six white crosses with the names of the six shooting victims crudely inscribed on them. Other than that, there is nothing noting the shooting.

And that’s where we start. It was to be a regular day that winter morning at La Toscana Village mall. How quickly things turned into a nightmare.

Conducting an informal “Congress on Your Corner” meeting for her constituents in her southern Arizona district, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a “Blue Dog” Democrat based here in Tucson, was addressing them when Loughner allegedly opened fire.

The day this tragic event happened, I suspected right off the bat that something was amiss. First, the report was that Rep. Giffords had been shot dead. Then, later, reports clarified that she was simply seriously injured. It reminded me of so many of these national tragedies where information comes out and the story changes over time.

Think back to earlier this month when it was reported global villain Osama Bin Laden was shot dead and dumped in the ocean. The story changed a dozen times. Who knows what to believe? Of course Obama’s numbers rose and he looked like a tough, decisive commander-in-chief. Yet, with both the Loughner/Tucson massacre and the Bin Laden killing, so many things simply do not add up.

And with the Giffords shooting, we learn that not only was a member of the U.S. Congress shot and injured, a respected, conservative U.S. District Court judge, John Roll, was shot dead at the scene as well. Then, unbelievably, a girl, aged 9 and named Christina-Taylor Green, was shot and killed as well. And the kicker? She was born on Sept. 11, 2001.

Before I go any further, I should note that this all took place against a volatile backdrop of state and local politics. Being close to the Mexican border, immigration politics was being addressed in a hot and heavy fashion.

You had the rise of the Tea Party and the Shawna Forde case where a white, female member of the Minutemen border-security group who was being tried for the May 2009 murder of an immigrant and his daughter.

Interestingly, Forde’s trial began in Tucson, at the Pima County Superior Court, three days before the Giffords/Roll shooting. The trial would then be delayed a week due to the shooting.

And less than a month earlier, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in a shootout with Mexican bandits, linked to a drug cartel, and possibly with weapons – an AK-47 in the case of Agent Terry – that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives allowed to transported across the border into Mexico as part of Project Gunrunner.

The shootout occurred just south of Tucson, near the border and the gun in question is said to have come from an Arizona gun shop. The BATFE has, so far, been reluctant to admit any wrongdoing, despite a congressional investigation and attempts by the Department of Justice and Attorney General Eric Holder to avoid answering the tough questions.

And then there is Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik. A real piece of work, this guy. Back in April 2010, when a tough immigration law was passed and signed into law by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Dupnik wasquoted in the media saying he would not follow the law and went on to say that the law was “irresponsible” and that the legislators who pushed for it are “racists.”

This rhetoric certainly didn’t help things in Pima County, an area of Arizona populated by leftists and liberals who hate the immigration law and want open borders and want to create their own state of “Baja Arizona.”

Join The Intel Hub News Alerts Mailing List

Dupnik would later say, after the shootings in his county, that “a toxic political environment” is to be blamed for the deadly shooting.

So, we can see that the Tucson area was (and still is, to a large degree) in the midst of a volatile and toxic situation. The mass shooting here in Tucson – Casas Adobes, specifically – appeared to be part of something larger than troubled college kid Jared Lee Loughner. As I reported the following day, here at Red Dirt Report, in a piece headlined “MK ULTRA at work in Tucson attack?”

We noted how Loughner was “ a person not only obsessed with issues pertaining to mind control but also a person who has all the characteristics of someone under mind control” not unlike previous assassins like Lee Harvey Oswald, Mark David Chapman and Sirhan Sirhan. Loughner was undoubtedly troubled, with a string of run-ins with the police on his record and reports from people who encountered him noting that Loughner was “creepy.”

There are echoes of the Columbine shooters at play, it would seem. Even photos of Loughner from his high school yearbook – featured in the media – bear an eerie resemblance to Dylan Klebold, one of the Columbine shooters.

And then you have Judge John Roll. As Sheriff Richard Mack noted in a piece “Judge John Roll: A True American Hero,” he writes that Judge Roll was an “honest man and a principled judge” who heard a lawsuit Sheriff Mack brought against the Clinton administration in 1994, amazingly enough.

Writes Mack: “I met Judge Roll back in 1994, in fact, it was in his courtroom. He was the judge who first heard my lawsuit against the Clinton Administration. Judge Roll had the courage to take a strong stand against the very entity that controlled his salary and career.

He actually had the audacity to tell Congress and President Clinton that they exceeded their authority when they made the Brady bill a law.”

Roll, writes Mack, concluded in court that the anti-gun Brady bill violated both the 10th and 5th amendments, something Mack noted as being remarkable and a ruling that “changed my life and helped alter American history.”

And now Judge Roll, a real, solid American jurist who cared about the Constitution is out of the way. The judge who defied the powerful Clinton machine back in 1994 is no longer here. They don’t make judges like John Roll very often. He will certainly be missed.

We also noted that prior to the Tucson shooting, political analyst Mark Penn had been quoted saying that President Obama needed an “Oklahoma City-like event” to help his sagging poll numbers and reconnect with voters.

Interestingly, within days of the Tucson shooting we had Obama appearing in Tucson with a made-for-T-shirt slogan “Together We Thrive.” Now, we’re still not sure how all these T-shirts, handed out at a massacre memorial at the University of Arizona, were printed so quickly. Regardless, as conservative writer Michelle Malkin noted, “the Tucson massacre is bring branded.”

And just as President Clinton saw a boost in his numbers after the OKC bombing and was also able to put the kibosh on the burgeoning militia movement in the wake of the all-too-convenient Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, things were forced to simmer down in the powder keg known as Tucson. The city, noted the media, put their political differences and came together to support the injured and the dead. It was almost as if this horrific event had been scripted …

Of course we now know that Clinton exploited the bombing in Oklahoma City for political gain. He tried to paint conservatives as extremists in hopes of staging a political comeback after months of tanking poll numbers. It appears it’s deja vu all over again, except it’s a different Democrat in the White House this time.

And who can forget how Obama’s advisor and now-mayor-of-Chicago Rahm Emanuel famously said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Indeed! And so we had a young girl – Christina-Taylor Green – born on 9/11/01 of all days! – invoked by the President – saying that Christina, just getting involved in politics at her elementary school, would want folks to get along.

Said Obama: “I want us to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as she imagined it. All of us – we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations.”

Since I have been looking into the Tucson shooting case, into Jared Lee Loughner’s life and into the events surrounding the shooting you see lots of things that don’t add up.

First, where are the videotapes from the scene? Visiting the shopping center – the Safeway and the Walgreens – you see where video cameras are mounted. There’s a few that I could see. And back in January, a week or so after the shootings, you had reports coming out with “federal law enforcement officials” telling the media that Judge John Roll was shot in the chest, right after Rep. Giffords was shot in the head.

Reported the Los Angeles Times on Jan. 18, 2011: “You see him shot in the chest,” the official said. “He tried to get up. He started to get up but then fell back down again. He didn’t make it.”

It would sound as if the shock of being shot in the chest and damage to Roll’s body prevented the judge from doing anything, which is certainly understandable. But then, on the following day, The Washington Postreports that Roll, after being shot in the back, tried to protect Giffords’s staffer Ron Barber. An inconsistency? I guess we won’t know for sure until the tapes are released to the public, as they should be.

We assume that the videotapes will be eventually released. Perhaps around the time of the trial. Of course here in Oklahoma City activists and others are still trying to force the government to release videotapes from around the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building on the morning of April 19, 1995. That was over 16 years ago!

But then we see a report at the independent website The Government Rag which notes that an episode ofLaw & Order, which aired this past Monday, was not shown on KVOA in Tucson because the station’s general manager felt the community should not see it – it’s about events that closely mirror what happened in Tucson – because of the “timing and sensitive nature” of the episode.

Connie A. Tushion, the writer at The Government Rag who wrote the piece about the censored episode (the station instead showed a program about the Pentagon memorial, of all things) noted that there is a cover-up afoot and that she talks to folks in Tucson who are getting wise to the “mind control agenda and information suppression protocols.”

Writes Tushion: “I speak with many people living in Tucson about the event and the episode of Law & Order. Residents express they are getting fed-up with total control and domination creeping on them in Tucson by the powers-(that)-be. Deciding what residents can and cannot watch is a sign of a draconian entity creeping into the city.”

Missouri-based Stephanie Sledge, who operates The Government Rag website and is doing something quite similar to what we’re doing here at Red Dirt Report, by looking into the strange anomalies related to the Tucson shooting. Sledge is a frequent guest on Joyce Riley’s “The Power Hour” and she has been joined by Ed Chiarini of WellAware1.com.

Both Sledge and Chiarini believe that many of the people involved in the Tucson shooting – primarily eyewitnesses and so forth – are actors and that the whole thing was staged.

There are questions about where Christina-Taylor Green was laid to rest and NASA’s curious interest in Green’s elementary school prior to the shooting and to this very day – Giffords’s husband is Mark Kelly, commander of the space shuttle Endeavour which is currently in low-earth orbit conducting the last space mission Endeavour will ever conduct as America’s space program appears to enter its twilight years.

It’s a provocative position to take, to be sure. Clearly Rep. Giffords and others are still healing from their wounds and the families of Christina-Taylor Green, Judge John Roll, Giffords’s staffer Gabe Zimmerman, and constituents Dorothy “Dot” Morris, Phyllis Schneck and Dorwan Stoddard are still in mourning over the deaths of their loved ones.

Still, Sledge and Chiarini are asking the tough questions that are being largely ignored by the local, state and national media.

While in Tucson, Red Dirt Report writer Ted Smith and I went to Oro Valley, Ariz. and witnessed an angel sculpture in a park frequented by slain 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green. There was next to nothing available about who made it or for whom. A woman in the park confirmed it was made for Christina but knew nothing more.

It took some time, scouring the Internet, to finally find a story about the sculptor Lei Hennessy-Owen and the name of the sculpture she had made in Christina’s memory. I say that to say that the local media – theArizona Daily Star, specifically – has not done a very good job asking the tough questions and getting all the answers. They have a Sheriff running amok in their county and little is being done.

While the irresponsible Sheriff Dupnik demonizes conservatives and the Tea Party movement and blames them for the Giffords shooting, he adds fuel to an already blazing fire. It may be smoldering right now, but it won’t take much for a small spark to stoke it back into an inferno.

Of course we wish a speedy recovery for Rep. Giffords and the others who survived the shooting. The Tucson community appears to still be reeling from the massacre, after talking to people here. And Loughner? We hear he may be “too deranged to stand trial.” Again, how convenient.

Back to La Toscana Village mall, ground zero for the shooting, Smith and I walk around and look for any sign of grass. This being an arid, desert climate, none is found. I mention that because we learn that Loughner’s Glock, the weapon he used to allegedly fire 32 rounds, was found in a “grassy” area.

We also note to the east of the Safeway entrance and above the area where Giffords held her “Congress on Your Corner” event, is a clearly visible “trap door” or some sort, leading to the roof. Was someone up there during the shooting? In the first hours following the shooting, authorities strongly believed a second gunman had been on the scene.

A “John Doe 2” type of situation that was eventually dismissed, even though Pima County deputies reported finding a rifle at the scene as well. Ah! Another bit of evidence crammed down the memory hole.

Out in the parking lot of the La Toscana Village Safeway, Smith and I run into a young man collecting grocery carts. Asking him if he worked there at the time of the shooting, he replied he had only started working there a month or so ago.

We explained that we were from out of town and that we were looking into discrepancies in the official story and that we suspected a cover-up of what really happened there was underway.

The young man gave me a strange half-smile and simply told us to “Keep asking,” as if to say we were on the right path.

And that’s what we intend to do. As independent journalists who truly desire the truth, we intend to “keep asking.”

World Bank Sees Dollar Reserve Status Ending Over Next Decade

World Bank Sees Dollar Reserve Status Ending Over Next Decade | zero hedge

In a report released yesterday titled "Multipolarity: The New Global Economy", that other "bailout" organization, the World Bank, says that due to the developing world's pronounced greater growth curve through 2025 (expected to grow at 4.7% compared to 2.3% for the developed countries), the outcome will be that "The balance of global growth and investment will shift to developing or emerging economies." More importantly, as the FT summarized, a "different international monetary system will gradually evolve, wiping out the US dollar’s position as the world’s main reserve currency." As a result of these "inevitabilities" (which will be interested to see how they are attained considering according to a recent report, the world will need to double its debt to double it GDP, so where all this new debt will come from we don't really know), there are three potential scenarios: i) A status quo centered on the US dollar, ii) A system with the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) as the main international currency, iii) A multicurrency system. And while this obviously covers every possible outcome so absolutely no value added there, the WB is focused on outcome iii and believes that the dollar will gradually shift away from its current position of reserve currency prominence. This is not surprising: after all it is none other than World Bank president Robert Zoellick who recently predicted a return to the gold standard and an end to USD hegemony. Our advice to Bob: stay away from penthouse suites at the Sofitel.

Most interesting in the report, which is for the most part trivial, is its analysis of ever greater Chinese relevance in global capital flows (much more in the slide presentation below):

More from the FT's take on this report:

The World Bank expects the US dollar to lose its solitary dominance in the global economy by 2025, as the euro and the renminbi establish themselves on an equal footing in a new “multi-currency” monetary system.

The implications are wide-ranging. For instance, Mr Dailami said this power shift would lead to big boosts in investment flows to the countries driving global growth, with a significant increase in cross-border mergers and acquisitions activity, and a changing corporate landscape in which “you’re not going to see the dominance of established multinationals”.

In addition, a different international monetary system will gradually evolve, wiping out the US dollar’s position as the world’s main reserve currency.

“The current predominance of the US dollar would end sometime before 2025 and would be replaced by a monetary system in which the dollar, the euro and the renminbi would each serve as full-fledge international currencies,” the report said, highlighting what it considered the “most likely” of three scenarios for the currency markets in 15 years.

Iran claims to bust CIA spy network

Iran claims to bust CIA spy network - UPI.com

TEHRAN, May 21 (UPI) -- Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced Saturday the arrest of 30 people it claims were part of a CIA spy network.

"Due to the massive intelligence and counterintelligence work by Iranian intelligence agents, a complex espionage and sabotage network linked to America's spy organization was uncovered and dismantled," the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement read on state television and radio.

The alleged CIA spies were said to have been collecting information on nuclear energy, oil and gas pipelines, and border patrol, among other things, the Los Angeles Times reported. Tehran reported identifying 42 other suspected spies.

The CIA spies were allegedly working out of U.S. embassies in United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Malaysia under the guise of being recruitment agencies, enlisting Iranians to get visas for work and education abroad.

The United States did not issue an immediate response, the newspaper said.

Elderly man beaten by cop after calling 911

PressTV - Elderly man beaten by cop after calling 911

An Alabama police officer allegedly hospitalized an elderly man who called 911 to report an accident across the street from his house while his wife watched the entire beating from her wheelchair.

The Courthouse News Service reported that 84-year-old Dorsey Henderson of Fairhope, Alabamacalled 911 after investigating the car accident and discovering that the driver of the vehicle was severely intoxicated.

Henderson told the driver of the car he was under citizens arrest and needed to wait near his car until police arrived.

When Officer Trent Scott arrived on the scene, Henderson attempted to inform him of the driver's belligerent behavior and that the driver had been placed under citizens arrest. The officer allegedly toldHenderson there was "no such thing as citizen's arrest in Alabama," and to "get out of the way, old man."

After Henderson tried to explain that he was only trying to help, Officer Scott placed him in an arm bar and slammed him face first into the ground, breaking his nose and eyeglasses. Henderson's wife, Dorris, watched from a wheelchair at the front window of her house, telling a 911 dispatcher that the officer was "beating the hell out of my husband."

At no point did Scott place Henderson under arrest or charge him with any crime, but kept Hendersonhandcuffed in the backseat of his police cruiser. Raw Story
