Mainstream media regurgitates exact same news on Fukushima, word for word
(NaturalNews) Where can you go to find "trusted" news about Fukushima? Well according to Google News, only the mainstream sources are "trusted" these days. That's why they've removed nearly all alternative news sites from their news index, leaving only the monotone, mindless canned mainstream news sources for people to read.

But just how mindless are these mainstream news sources? To find out, I did a Google search on spent fuel rods and plutonium, and the results were amassive regurgitation of the exact same news from multiple mainstream news sources.

IRISH American actor Aidan Quinn on vaccines & autism

The Mighty Quinn
September 18, 2008

Edited by Debbie McGoldrick

IRISH American actor Aidan Quinn – emphasizing the Irish part, as he spent a chunk of his childhood in Ireland and has worked on several films there – spoke to the Sunday Independent last week about lots of interesting matters, both career and personal. But he really stood out when talking about his 19-year-old autistic daughter who doesn’t speak.

Ava Quinn has, however, been a joy to her parents, Aidan and his wife Elizabeth Bracco (sister of Lorraine Bracco of Sopranos fame.) But it surely hasn’t been easy for the family, which also includes a 10-year-old girl. Ava was, according to her dad, a perfectly normal baby, until she got vaccinated.

“So we had a normal child that was walking, talking, doing everything way faster than she was supposed to. Then, after an MMR, she got a 106 fever and turned blue and woke up the next day with dark circles and not knowing who she was. And uncoordinated. And her arm lifted up. Of course the doctors are all saying, ‘Oh, that’s normal.’”

Iran calls Syrian protests a Western plot

Iran calls Syrian protests a Western plot - Yahoo! News

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Anti-government demonstrations in Syria are part of a plot by the West to undermine a government that supports "resistance" in the Middle East, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

Unlike uprisings in other parts of the Arab world which Tehran has applauded as an "Islamic awakening" of peoples against Western-backed oppressors, the protests in Syria have received little media attention or official comment in Iran.

63 percent of people killed in Iraq war were civilians: report

BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been causing huge civilian casualties with 63 percent of some 109,000 people killed in the Iraq war being civilians, according to a report on the U.S. human rights record released on Sunday.

The figures were quoted from a WikiLeaks trove by the Human Rights Record of the United States in 2010, which was released by the Information Office of China's State Council in response to the country reports on Human Rights Practices for 2010 issued by the U.S. Department of State.

Figures from the WikiLeaks website also revealed up to 285,000 war casualties in Iraq from March 2003 through the end of 2009, according to the report.

UN resolution looks to give "Mother Earth" same rights as humans

UN resolution looks to give "Mother Earth" same rights as humans

Steven Edwards, Postmedia News · Apr. 11, 2011 | Last Updated: Apr. 11, 2011 10:37 PM ET

UNITED NATIONS — Bolivia will this month table a draft United Nations treaty giving “Mother Earth” the same rights as humans — having just passed a domestic law that does the same for bugs, trees and all other natural things in the South American country.

The bid aims to have the UN recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to “dominate and exploit” — to the point that the “wellbeing and existence of many beings” is now threatened.

The wording may yet evolve, but the general structure is meant to mirror Bolivia’s Law of the Rights of Mother Earth, which Bolivian President Evo Morales enacted in January.

Obama prevents budget cuts to favorite programs

Obama prevents budget cuts to favorite programs - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON – A close look at the government shutdown-dodging agreement to cut federal spending by $38 billion reveals that lawmakers significantly eased the fiscal pain by pruning money left over from previous years, using accounting sleight of hand and going after programs President Barack Obama had targeted anyway.

Such moves permitted Obama to save favorite programs — Pell grants for poor college students, health research and "Race to the Top" aid for public schools, among others — from Republican knives.

And big holes in foreign aid and Environmental Protection Agency accounts were patched in large part. Republicans also gave up politically treacherous cuts to the Agriculture Department's food inspection program.

Mediterranean holiday island to use DNA database in catching out pet owners who refuse to clean up after their dogs | Mail Online

The 'millionaires playground' Italian island of Capri will use a DNA database to identify pet owners who refuse to clean up after their dogs.

The Mayor of Capri, Ciro Lembo, has announced plans for a 'CSI-style' DNA database to catch the owners of dogs who soil the picturesque walkways on the Mediterranean island.

Using sophisticated DNA testing normally reserved only for major crimes, dog owners will have to submit their dogs' genetic details to a central database.

Samples of dog mess will be sent to a crime laboratory for testing to identify the guilty dog - and owner.

'US to use al-Qaeda as allies in Libya'

PressTV - 'US to use al-Qaeda as allies in Libya'
The US frustration over the Libyan war has forced Washington to consider supporting al-Qaeda operatives and deploying ground troops in the North African country, a political analyst says.

“I think the US forces and NATO forces are becoming frustrated [in Libya],” said the editor of Pan-African News Wire, Abayomi Azikiwe, in a Press TV interview.

“The US has seen the futility of the air operations against the Libyan government. This is for the simple fact that it has not been able to win any territory for the opposition forces in the Eastern part of Libya,” he added.

“That's why General Ham who is the new Commander of the US African Command came out several days ago, and said he does not rule out the deployment of ground forces in Libya,” Azikiwe pointed out.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the analyst noted that Americans have been supporting groups of opposition forces fighting in Eastern Libya.

“The Libyan government has stated repeatedly that there is a faction within the opposition that had some alliances with the al-Qaeda organization,” he added.

Azikiwe went on to say that the American people are shocked by the fact that in Libya the US government is backing the very organization (al-Qaeda) that has been cited as the major enemy in the so-called war on terror.

“This of course raises serious questions about the credibility and political character of the war that is being waged right now inside Libya,” the analyst argued.

FBI destroyed thousands of UFO reports, 1949 memo reveals

FBI destroyed thousands of UFO reports, 1949 memo reveals | World news | The Guardian

The FBI was so overwhelmed with sightings of flying saucers in the 1940s that agents routinely destroyed reports because of lack of filing space, according to documents released by the organisation.

The policy is outlined in a memo sent on 16 August 1949 to J Edgar Hoover, the director of the bureau, along with documents on UFOscompiled by agents after statements from witnesses.

The note, sent by an unnamed FBI agent in San Antonio, Texas, states that the office destroyed UFO reports on the grounds that they arrived "in great numbers" and contained "nothing of FBI interest".

"It is pointed out that the filing of these would result in the rapid accumulation of very bulky files," the memo continues.

The documents are among a batch of papers related to UFO sightings that has been made available through The Vault, the FBI's online records database.

Boston Using Infrared Thermal Cameras On City Homes

Boston Using Infrared Thermal Cameras On City Homes - BlackListedNews.com

A thermal imaging project in the city of Boston has been put on hold because of privacy concerns.

Boston officials had hoped to have aerial and street-level photos taken across about four square miles of the city this winter using infrared cameras that would show heat loss in the city homes.

Officials planned on sharing the photos and analysis with homeowners, and were hoping the findings would increase enrollment in efficiency programs and also create business opportunities.

But, the project hit a snag when the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts raised concerns that the infrared cameras would reveal information about what’s going on inside the homes. Sagewell’s cameras can take up to 20,000 images of homes per day.

Despite the concern, towns outside of Boston have not had any problems with the program. Utilities and environmental groups from Springfield and Hamilton are in the process of initiating the same project in their communities.
