Americans Awake At 4 AM In South Carolina To Watch Royal Wedding

Upstate Gets Up Early For Royal Wedding Watching - Greenville News Story - WYFF Greenville
Many people in the Upstate were in the royal wedding spirit Friday morning.

At a home on Paris Mountain in Greenville County, ladies were up early to watch the festivities. The women wore tiaras, ate scones, and sipped on tea.

They even had their own Catherine cake.

The woman said they have been friends for years and are part of Furman University's life-long learning and education group.

A group of Upstate wedding planners and others gathered in a Greenville hotel suite to toast William and Kate.

They also enjoyed a little wedding cake on their behalf.

Mary Anne Navis held a royal wedding watch party at her home in Greer.

Petit fours and scones from Strossner’s, tea with a silver tea service and even ordered customized M&Ms were served.

The M&Ms were gold and purple and said William and Kate, Royal Wedding and the date.

Several young girls dressed up for the occasion and even got an etiquette lesson.

Navis ordered special key rings for the event, and had royal wedding tea towels and special royal wedding Yankee Candles for door prizes.

Navis said she has lived and traveled in Europe and just thought it would be a fun, although admittedly goofy, thing to do.

Navis held the party at 10 am and guest watched a re-play of the wedding.
