Commodity prices are rising as negotiations continue to avoid a U.S. government shutdown and concerns linger about the growth of global inflation.

Oil, metals, grains and beans all settled higher Friday despite the uncertainty about what may be ahead for the United States, Europe and the oil-rich region of the Middle East and North Africa.
